YAN LAB

Dr. Zhiqiang Yan obtained his bachelor's degree from Fudan University in 2004, then he pursued his Ph.D. degree in Neurobiology, Institute of Neuroscience, Chinese Academy of Sciences, National Institute of Biology Sciences, Beijing & Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2004-2009. He received postdoctoral training in Lily Jan and Yuh Nung Jan group at Howard Hughes Medical Institute &University of California at San Francisco, San Francisco, USA. In 2013, he was appointed as a professor at Fudan University. Then, he joined the Institute of Molecular Physiology of Shenzhen Bay Laboratory as a senior principal investigator in 2020 and was appointed as deputy director. In 2024, he took on the role of professor and dean at the School of Basic Medical Sciences, Capital Medical University. Also, he became an investigator and director at the Institute for Medical Physiology, Chinese Institutes for Medical Research, Beijing. Dr. Yan has published papers as the first or corresponding author in journals including Nature, Neuron, Nature Structural & Molecular Biology, PNAS, Nature Communications, eLife, Cell Reports, etc. He was funded by 4 National Key Research and Development Projects of China and 2 programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
